Williams, White & Co. of Moline, Ill were manufactures of the patented Burnett & Clifton Automatic Coal Chute for Coaling Locomotives. Among the many customers was the AT&SF, which had these chutes located at La Junta, Colorado, and other places along their mainline. Another customer was the D&RG with a 24 pocket version at Gunnison, Colorado, and a similar structure in Salida serving both standard and narrow gauge locomotives. The Rio Grande Southern in southwestern Colorado had three such structures, located at Ute Junction, Rico, and Vance Junction.
