There is no specific prototype for this kit, but it has been designed to give the appearance of a D&RGW tank.  It is intended for the freelance or branch line modeler, or the modeler running smaller equipment or lacking the space for the full size tank.  Smaller than our D&RGW standard 50,000 gallon Octagon Roof tank, this kit incorporates a 20,000 gallon tub measuring 12 foot tall by 16 foot diameter.  
 
Careful consideration has been given to maintaining the prototype appearance, yet controlling dimensions so the completed tank looks reasonable.  It can also be used to increase the illusion of depth on larger layouts.
